Mastering the art of medicine

Medicinal Garden
• Medicinal plants have a great role in human life and India
has rich diversity of medicinal plants. About 90% of herbs
are used in manufacturing of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and
Homoeopathy medicines.
• In our STPC we have established an arboretum of medicinal
plants in an area of about 500 Sq.M. The objective of
establishing this garden is to maintain a conservatory of
the most common and important species of medicinal and
aromatic plants which are being used in day-to-day primary
health care.
• All the plant species were authentically identified by
expert taxonomists, labelled and in many cases their
therapeutic values in curing different diseases are also
highlighted.
STPC campus has spacious, well equipped lecture halls that
provide the most favourable atmosphere for vibrant and
focused learning. The lecture halls are furnished with
contemporary audiovisual possessions. The audiovisual
amenities vary according to the program of study. Lecture
hall PCs are also prepared with identical software. The
Lecture halls are properly ventilated and ergonomically
designed to make sure that each student has adequate space,
and each faculty member has the conveniences required to
deliver to students/ learners a focused arena to develop
their personalities.
In addition to lecture hall teaching, students can interact
with faculties in discussion room located in Sproductive
experience for the students as well as faculty members.
Display boards have been put up in the lecture halls, which
serve as platforms for cheering ingenuity and mounting
awareness among the students.

The multipurpose halls are mainly utilized for conducting seminar, conferences and examinations. They are well aided with comfortable seating and latest teaching audio-visual equipment like LCD Projectors, speakers, cordless mike, pointer torch and air conditioned to facilitate smooth kinetics of knowledge. Examination halls were monitored by digital camera with recorder and provided with metal detector for detecting electronic and other metal devices.

Multipurpose Hall

Hostels
One of the key contributors to an intensive learning
experience is living in campus. S.Thangapazham Pharmacy
College (STPC) has a residential facility on campus for the
students. A well-furnished and artistically designed hostels
with separate buildings for boys and girls has been
constructed with a view to provide best possible facilities
to the students. All the Hostels are located inside the same
campus and are under the surveillance of CCTV camera and
provides safe environment for both boys and girls.
Students can opt for rooms that offer Air Conditioned
single, double and triple occupancy rooms with Attached bath
rooms as per student's own need. The rooms are bright,
spacious, comfortable, clean and airy with necessary
accessories. All hostels are with WiFi internet access.
Hostel has a facility like RO water, water cooler, a common
room with TV, 24 hrs power backup, which creates a homely
atmosphere.
All the hostels are also having extra-curricular and
Co-curricular facilities like Library, Peer-to-Peer Learning
class room and Indoor and Outdoor sports. The hostel also
has a general store, gymnasium and beauty parlour for the
girls and boys. We are facilitating the students by offering
exclusive Laundry & dry-cleans Services in line with
international standards. To offer greater comfort in hostel,
Food is cooked and delivered adhering to the highest hygiene
standards and executive dining facility is provided to
students.
Contrary to the common notion that Pharmacy students who
have devoted all their time to academics, STPC students are
recognized for their athletic skills at national and state
level. Not only does STPC provide the best training
facilities for sports activities, but also induces the
spirit of sportsmanship in the students.
Though a catcher, but still very true is the fact that a
healthy body hosts a healthy mind. Healthy, in the fullest
sense. Efficient, quick and un corrupt. Many students are
exposed to a sport for the first time, but it is not long
before they become experts in that game. Such is the variety
and vibrancy of extracurricular take in STPC, that you are
destined to find worthwhile and meaningful activities to
pursue for every year you spends in this campus. Sports here
becomes one of the most cherished part of your STPC Life.
STPC provides the students with many opportunities to
demonstrate their talent on a platform much wider than their
immediate peer circle in the form of events take the Inter
STPC Sports Week and other inters college sports meets.
Active participation in sports therefore makes your body
physically fit and the time spent in it trebly and
enjoyable. It is no less important and educating than other
extracurricular and academic activities. The college has
student's activity center for the indoor games. Large play
field is also reserved so that students can have adequate
participation in sports for healthy and constructive
activities

Canteen
Cafeteria is located within the campus to provide meals and
snacks throughout the day. The area is attractively designed
with proper seating arrangements. It has become a place for
relaxation and discussion.

including vegetarian, non-vegetarian, salads, grilled items
and fresh fruits to cater to different tastes and dietary
preferences.

accessibility for all members of the college campus.

Maintain high standards of
cleanliness and hygiene throughout the canteen, including
food preparation areas and dining areas.
The every-growing library is a immeasurable sea of
information for young minds. Innumerable text books,
reference, journals and periodicals make for interesting
reading. To add with it, there's Internet facility for
online search that brings the world of information to the
students. The library regularly subscribes periodicals
related to pharmaceutical sciences.

Salient Features
• The library is kept open from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm on all
working days.
• Our library is completely computerized and automation of
all its operations
• "Books are for use and not Preservation" With this dictum
our Library functions. Hence the Open Access followed
• Loan of books to members is through Identify Cards with
Bar-Coding.
• Photocopying facility is available on the library. It
provides an invaluable service to the student.
• A convenient spacious reading area with 100 seating
capacity is available within the library
• Separate sections for text books, reference books,
Journals, Periodicals, Back volumes, Project reports with
Internet access available

Library

Transport Facility
• Highly sophisticated buses are connected to various parts
of the city.
• The institution has its own transportation facilities to
bring the students and staff from Tenkasi,
Virudhunagar,Thirunelveli.
• The institution has an excellent transport facility for
the faculty, staff and students with flexible and
competitive fare.
• The transport facility remains available for any kind of
emergencies round-the-clock.
• State roadways and private buses are also available from
Vasudevanallur city at a frequency of 5 to 10 minutes.
Transportation Rules for Students
• Using of institution transport is not compulsory and only
those students who agree to abide by the transport rules of
the institution are advised to use this facility.
• The transport fee should be a pain in the beginning of the
year and the fee once paid will not be refunded under any
circumstances.
• Strict discipline should be maintained inside the
institute bus.
• The boarding/dropping point should be given clearly on the
requisition form.
Transport Timings
Buses start at 7:30 a.m. from Coimbatore and at 5:00 p.m.
from the institution's campus. Every year, nearly 500
students are utilizing the transport facility.
Transport Committee
There is a transport committee with staff and students
comprising of 20 members observing transport facility for
students and maintaining anti-ragging and discipline in the
buses. The committee discusses the problems regarding
transport facility and takes disciplinary action if
necessary. Transport is also provided for sports, NCC and
late evening classes. Buses are also provided on Saturdays
and Sundays for students attending special classes. On
special occasion buses are operated for industrial visits
and social service activities.
